Katleen - Customer Service Employee

"Pleasant atmosphere both on and off the job!"

My name is Katleen Aerts and I have been working as a Customer Service employee at Bleckmann for some time now. We are market leader in logistics services in the field of fashion and lifestyle. We collect clothing worldwide, store it and deliver it to customers.

I work at our site in Grobbendonk, a beautiful location which is easily accessible by own transport. At this site I am the link between our customers and our own internal services such as warehousing, transport, IT and finance. With good communication and a dose of enthusiasm, I ensure that everything runs smoothly between all parties on a daily basis. Administrative follow-up is also part of my job, in order to ensure that every order can be quickly tracked in our systems.

The nice thing about this job is the daily diversity and the direct contact with both customers and the nice colleagues within the company. Every day offers a new challenge and that always makes it an exciting working day. An ideal environment to use my organizational talent. In addition to this, you end up in a company with a pleasant atmosphere, both on and off the job.

Kars - Logistic Trainee

"Being a trainee means non-stop learning and being constantly challenged"

I am Kars Eekema, Logistic Trainee at Bleckmann. After my studies sports, health & management I was looking for a challenging position in logistics. I started looking for a company that wanted to give me a chance to develop my logistics knowledge and that's how I ended up at Bleckmann.

In 6 months I was taken through the entire logistics process in the warehouse. I was able to try out various positions in both the warehouse and the office. This gave me a good idea of how a site is run within Bleckmann. For me, the Traineeship is a constant challenge because of the different things you are included in. In short: very fun and educational!

Elke - Management Trainee

"Because of the experienced people around me and the variety of the projects I keep on learning"

My name is Elke Rödel and I work as a Management Trainee at Bleckmann. I already knew the company from my surroundings, I went to school nearby and several people around me were working there. Both the stories they told and the fact that it is a fast-growing company triggered my interest.

I was able to follow a customs course here and completed the Lean Orange Belt. In addition to this, I had the opportunity to join and work on various projects and activities in the past year and a half.

Because of the experienced people around me and the variety of the projects I keep on learning. In my current position my main responsibilities are dealing with issues such as the Brexit and its implications for Bleckmann as a whole, setting up the customs department in the UK and the implementation and progress of customers in a bonded warehouse, so a lot of variety!

Meriam - Lean Coordinator

"Bleckmann is versatile, dynamic, developing, innovative and there is room for personal growth within the organization"

I am Meriam Scheffer and I have been working for our international organization for just over 35 years.

For the last 2.5 years I have been Lean Coordinator in the continuous improvement department where we guide our employees in improvement projects. To optimize business processes we use the DMAIC model, a cyclical model from the Lean Six Sigma world that aims to improve processes within an organization. DMAIC is an acronym that stands for Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve and Control.

Bleckmann is versatile, dynamic, developing, innovative and there is room for personal growth within the organization, both horizontally and vertically. What I love about my job is working together in a service-oriented environment. Furthermore, the possibilities that exist for improvement projects boost both your energy and results. Wonderful!

Lesley - HR Manager

"Bleckmann gives me the freedom to be creative and expand my knowledge whilst giving me support and guidance when I need it"

My name is Lesley Elliot and I am the UK HR Manager. Coming from a logistics and HR background, this role was perfect for me from day 1.

My role is wide ranging and varied. My day involves things like supporting shift managers with performance issues and mentoring team members to help further their careers through to creating a strategic plan to help us become an employer of choice in the UK.

Bleckmann gives me the freedom to be creative and expand my knowledge whilst giving me support and guidance when I need it. To succeed in Bleckmann, you need to be resilient, brave, creative and fun. If you have these traits, then Bleckmann will give you the opportunity to thrive within a great team environment.

Luna - HR Intern

"If you’re looking for an interesting internship in a great company with a great working environment, Bleckmann is the place to be!"

My name is Luna Hellemans and I got the opportunity to work as an HR intern at Bleckmann. From the first time I got in touch with the company, I knew that this would be the ideal internship for me.

As an intern I get to carry out many different tasks to support the HR department. I get the opportunity to participate in the different steps of the recruitment process and I also get to work on different projects during my internship. These projects include for example developing surveys, being involved in a project on Employer Branding and so on.

At Bleckmann I really get the chance to learn, improve and grow whilst receiving the guidance and support I need. It's a very pleasant company to work for, with a great working environment and great colleagues who consider you to be part of the team. I have felt very welcome here since day one and will leave with a heavy heart. Thanks to Bleckmann and my colleagues, the internship was a very positive and educational experience which I look back on with a smile on my face.

Aleksandra - Finance Transport Administrator

"Bleckmann is like a second family to me thanks to its kind, caring and passionate employees"

I am Aleksandra Waniek and I started my career at Bleckmann in May 2018 as Omni Channel Coordinator. For 1,5 years our Transport Team developed a great customer service for our UK customers and provides the best logistic solutions. During that time the company gave me an excellent opportunity to develop my leadership skills and provided extensive training around Six Sigma methodology.

At the end of the year 2019, I applied for the position of Finance Transport Administrator which helps progress my personal development to become a fully equipped Accountant. Bleckmann and my current Line Manager are very supportive to help me achieve my ambitious goal and further education. The energetic team and fast-paced environment make you feel that even in finance every day is full of exiting challenges.

During the last 2 years I have grown so much in my career and received incredible support which allows me to achieve more and dream bigger. Beside being a well-working and growing organisation, Bleckmann is like a second family to me thanks to its kind, caring and passionate employees.

Chris Monroe - College Intern

"The lesson here: be open minded, optimistic, and you can learn and grow in any environment you find yourself in."

"As some may know, I recently lost my internship due to Covid-19. I searched and applied to the few remaining internships with no success. After feeling defeated in my search for professional business experience, I ended up taking what I thought would be a monotonous job at a warehouse, packing boxes. It was not the professional experience I wanted, but I needed work. Today I just wrapped up my first week in the warehouse and would like to publicly admit how wrong I was. The operation that I am a part of is a logistical masterpiece. I have not been bossed around and told to pack boxes faster, instead I have worked hand in hand with my supervisors to solve complex problems. I have been trusted to track various data and have been able to sharpen my Excel skills on real projects outside of the classroom. I have been soaking up information on how every inch of the operation works and have gained so much knowledge on supply chain. So, am I working in a reflective vest instead of a suit? Yup. Am I working in a hot warehouse instead of an air-conditioned office? You bet. Am I missing out on any learning opportunities by not having a “professional” internship? Absolutely not. The lesson here: be open minded, optimistic, and you can learn and grow in any environment you find yourself in.”

Dorien Adriaensen - Assistant Controller

"At Bleckmann you get the opportunity to develop and grow."

My name is Dorien Adriaensen, Assistant Controller at Bleckmann. After my studies in Applied Economics, I went looking for an instructive job within Finance.

As a Finance trainee I started supporting the Finance team. This was mainly by collecting and processing financial and operational data in both internal and external reports. I also had the opportunity to start up new reports and analyze the results. Working in a team and contact with different departments ensures that you can learn a lot quickly and it is a nice and varied position.

At Bleckmann you get the opportunity to develop and grow. For example, I am now partly responsible for the financial reporting of various sites.
